Tenemos una nuevo miembro de Clytiar: Ana Margarida Chora. Es portuguesa y ha publicado un estupendo libro sobre Lanzarote, cuya portada os adjunto. Estuvo en el congreso de Bristol del pasado julio. De esta manera reforzamos el carácter ibérico de Clytiar con nuestra colega lusitana.

We have a new Clytiar member: Ana Margarida Chora. She is Portuguese and has published a wonderful book on Lancelot, the cover of which is attached. She was also in Bristol for the conference last July. This way the Iberian approach of Clytiar become stronger thanks to our Lusitan colleague. Her data are now in our page.

Esta tesis pronto se convertirá en libro y se publicará en la Universidad de Valladolid. Sus datos ya están en la página.

We have a new Clytiar member: Sebastian García. He is from Colombia. He finished his doctoral thesis a few months ago. It was on the 16th century French translation of The Amadis of Gaul. This thesis will soon be published as a book by the University of Valladolid Press. His data are now in our page.

Una gran noticia artúrica. La editorial Planeta, la más grande del mundo Hispánico, ha comenzado a publicar de nuevo todo el Príncipe Valiente. Se venderá en todos los kioskos de España, entre otros puntos de distribución. Los que estáis en España puede que ya lo sepáis pues se ha anunciado en varias televisiones españolas a nivel nacional. Se trata de una nueva traducción de lo que ya ha sido publicado en español, y de una traducción por primera vez de lo que no se ha publicado hasta ahora. Cuando digo todo el cómic de Príncipe Valiente, quiero decir «realmente todo». Desde 1937 hasta 2011. Se publicará un volumen por cada año. En total: 74 volúmenes. Por supuesto, la parte de Hal Forster y la de sus continuadores.

Yo participo también en el proyecto. Cada volumen tendrá una pequeña introducción. A mí me han encargado cinco introducciones. Aparte, me ha tocado traducir los volúmenes de 1995, 1996 y 1997. Estos son de John Cullen Murphy. Si estáis interesados, no olvidéis hacer vuestra reserva.

A great Arthurian scoop. Planeta, the leader publisher in Spanish, has started publishing all Prince Valiant again. It will be distributed in all Spanish newspapers shops among other distribution centers. If you are in Spain you may be aware of it, as many national television channels are advertasing it at the moment. It is a new translation of all materials previously translated into Spanish, and first time translations for the rest of the materials. When I say all Prince Valiant, I really mean all. From 1937 to 2011. In other words, 74 volumes, each covering each publication year. Of course, those parts that Hal Forster did, and those that were done by his continuators.

I am also part of the project. Every volume will have a short introduction. I will write five introductions. Additionally, I have been entrusted the translation of the 1995, 1996 and 1997 volumes. These ones belong to John Cullen Murphy (a reputed continuator). If you are interested, make your reservation.

Kevin Harty me ha enviado información sobre un congreso de temática medievalista que tendrá lugar en Albuquerque, Nuevo México, en octubre. Os adjunto el programa. Podréis comprobar que habrá tres comunicaciones de temática ibérica: el «Merlín» de Albéniz, el Grial del monte Cebreiro de Galicia, y la «Última Fada» de Emilia Pardo Bazán. Kevin tendrá una plenaria sobre Walt Disney y Robin Hood. Mucha suerte Kevin, aunque no te hace falta. Será un éxito.

Hello to all Clytiar friends,

Kevin Harty has been as kind as sending me information about a medievalist conference that will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this October. Please, see attached programme. There will be three papers on Iberian subject matters: Albéniz’s «Merlin» (totally in fashion), the O Cebreiro (Galicia) legends on the Grail, and Emilia Pardo Bazán’s short novel «The Last Fairy». Kevin will have a wonderful plenary on Disney and Robin Hood. You do not need it, but good luck Kevin. It will be a success.
